Beware! Don't Take Pictures at the Myth

I made my first trip to the Myth Nightclub Wednesday night for the Danzig show. Myth Nightclub tickets for this event were not too in demand because my friend, Mary, and I were able to buy our tickets at the door.
I have been to a lot of concerts in my day, but I have never had the pleasure of experiencing a crowd like the crowd at Danzig. There were metal heads ranging from the ages of 16 to 50. The opening band, Dimmu Borger, was a real treat; a metal band from Norway. Finally after super long set changes and a horrific opening band Danzig finally took the stage at about 11 pm. We stood in the front for awhile until we were slammed into other people by the losers that wanted to mosh. Normally I wouldn't care, but they made me spill my beer. And that is not cool!

But the best part of the night hadn't even happened yet. I was sending my brother a text message and a 300 pound security guard grabbed my arm AND my phone and escorted me outside. After some very unkind words it turns the MYTH thought I was taking pictures of Danzig with my camera phone and were going to kick me out for bad behavior. In order to get back in to the show I had to show the security guard EVERY picture on my camera phone. Needless to say we were very upset and left soon after this incident.

I haven't even told the tale of the security guards when we got there - that is a tale for another day!

I was a little disapointed that my first experience at the Myth was so negative because it is a beautiful facilty. It has a state of the art sound system and beautiful decor and atmosphere. But I don't know if I would go there on a regular club night, the security gurards may take away all the fun.

Myth Night Club Concert Tickets

There are various places to buy Myth Nightclub tickets and to see the Myth Event Schedule. Of course you can go to their official site and then they just send you over to ticketmaster. A lot of times ticketmaster is sold out so then you are forced to check out local ticket brokers like Ticket King St Paul. Sometimes the broker prices are crazy, but I have to admit I have bought tickets from Ticket King before for just a little over face value.

Another Myth Night Club ticket hint, if you are waiting until the last minute, I would check with Ticket King first because a lot of times they are looking to get rid of tickets for below face value the day of the show so they don’t eat the entire cost of the ticket. I like the Ticket King St Paul site because they have a Myth Nightclub link on the left sidebar of the home page that gives me a quick look at who’s coming. Here is a good link to the Myth Schedule.

Two Jason Mraz shows at Myth

I am still a little surprised at how big Jason Mraz has become. He went from opening up shows for John Mayer to selling out not one, but two shows at the Myth Nightclub. Jason Mraz tickets for the November 19th show are extremely hard to come by, but you can buy Jason Mraz tickets for the November 20th show at places like Ticket King.

I guess his songs are fairly catchy and people do like his laid back style, but two shows at the Myth?! Wow. He is touring to promote his We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things album. Colbie Caillat joins him on the “Lucky” track of the new album. Wouldn’t it be cool if she showed up at the Myth to support Mraz? Probably not going to happen, but I am sure it will be a stellar show either night.

I think Jason Mraz really hit the mainstream when he got his lucky break when the TV show “Ugly Betty” approached him about rewriting his “Plain Jane” song for the show. He debuted it as a new single "The Beauty in Ugly" in 2007 during the shows prime time slot.

I read this factoid on Wikipedia and just had to share: Jason currently lives in San Diego, with his cat Holmes. He likes cats, another reason to like Jason Mraz.
