A sad state of affairs

Well, it looks like the Myth Nightclub is not going to open any time soon. All events at the Myth Nightclub have been moved. Marilyn Manson, Snow Patrol, and Regina Spektor have moved to the State Theater, Moby moved to the Fine Line Music Cafe, and Paramore moved to Roy Wilkins auditorium.

Myth Nightclub tickets for shows that have not been moved yet are still on sale, even though there is no venue! Shows that are still listed at the Myth are Bone Thugs N Harmony, which I think is going to be moved to Epic Nightclub, which is the old Quest Club.

I am little puzzled and disappointed as to what is going on at with the Myth, I hope it's legal woes go away soon so this beautiful facility opens back up!

Uh Oh.

As I am sure you have heard our dear Myth Nightclub's future is in limbo.

If you were planning on going to Regina Spektor you will have to relocate to the State Theater. I am not sure how they are moving it from a GA Floor set up to reserved seating, but more information should become available as the date gets closer. Myth Nightclub tickets are still on sale for all the upcoming shows since nothing has been officially closed yet.

This is an unfortunate story, I have read about the problems at hand on Star Tribune and it just sounds like a giant, expensive mess. I hope the Myth doesn't close and the beautiful facility that it is goes to waste - it is a very nice night club. I learned in also in the Star Tribune that the site used to be a show store - I can't imagine a show store that big.

If you purchase Myth Nightclub tickets to any of the upcoming shows just be weary that you may be attending the show at a different venue until this whole mess is sorted out! Good luck Myth Nightclub!

Lots of new shows announced at the Myth !

... including ... PARAMORE. Just finishing up their tour opening for No Doubt, they are starting a headlining tour with Paper Route and The Swellers opening for them.

It looks like the date is going to be Monday, October 9th - Myth Nightclub tickets for this show go on sale starting tomorrow.
Paramore is going on tour un support of their new album "Brand New Eyes" which is released on September 29 - just a few weeks before the show! They recorded the album in California with Rob Cavallo - you may recognize his name from the new Green Day record.

I am sure that Paramore will be playing not only their new jams, but songs like "Misery Business" from their last album "Riot!" - I have to admit, I couldn't help but stop flipping channels when I heard "Misery Business."

And lead singer, Haley Williams is so cute! You can't help but want to go to one of their shows.

Manson is Back

Good ol' Marilyn Manson. He was just in the news the other day for threatening to kill any blogger or music journalist that defamed his new album, "The High End of Low." Really mature for a man who just turned 40.

September 14th marks the day Manson will return for a soon to be sold out show at the Myth. Don't be too sad just because he won't be here for his sometimes regular Halloween show which I think he did about 2 years in a row that I can remember. Last time he was in town the show was a huge ticket, Myth Nightclub tickets for this show will sell out. The place only holds a few thousand people!

If it wasn't going to be so packed I would totally trek out there for the show, but I don't think you'll be able to move around the place for this one!

Call me anything but Chickenfoot!

The supergroup of all supergroups, Chickenfoot, is in town for a show at the Myth on Monday, August 10th.

All I have to say to Sammy Hagar is "Really? Chickenfoot? You couldn't have thought of a better name?!" The name of Sammy Hagar's tequila has a better name (it's Cabo Wabo, FYI).

Anywho, other than Sammy Hagar, the supergroup is also comprised of Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, guitar god Joe Satriani, and fellow Van Halen band mate Michael Anthony.

Myth Night Club tickets are on sale now for this show, tickets have been on sale for awhile so if this is something you wanted to go to you should buy your Chickenfoot tickets asap!

MOBY JUST ANNOUNCED! YEAH!!!!

Finally! A show that I am super excited about at the Myth. It's not exactly at the best time of the year (Minnesota Gophers, 2 Twins games, and the VIKING/PACKERS game all in the days following Moby) but I will still try to go. I'm not sure why he isn't playing at First Avenue, but the Myth does hold more people I guess. Check out Moby on Thursday, October 1st.

Moby is on tour in support of his new album "Wait for Me" which begins this September in Maryland. Myth Nightclub tickets for this show are on sale now!

See you at the show!

Staple of Classic Rock, Billy Squier is Coming to Town!

The stroker himself, Billy Squier is going to be in town for a show in a few weeks. To tell you the truth I monitor the Myth Nightclub Calendar pretty closely and I don't recall seeing this one on there. Maybe it was just announced? I'm not sure.

But rest assured that Billy Squier will play his extensive catalog of jams including: "The Stroke" "In the Dark", "Rock Me Tonite", "Lonely Is the Night", "My Kinda Lover", "Everybody Wants You", "All Night Long" and "Emotions in Motion".
I'm not going to lie, 92KQRS would not be the same without Billy Squier. I see those song titles and I automatically start singing all of them in my head.

Another Great Show Announced at the Myth!

Another great new show has been announced at the Myth! Snow Patrol and Plain White T's will be here for a show on Thursday, September 10th. This show should be huge - not only has Snow Patrol had many top 40 hits, but Plain White T's had that silly "Delila" song last summer that everyone was crazy about. So if this is a show you are looking to go to be sure buy your Myth Nightclub tickets asap when they go on sale Saturday as they will sell fast I am sure.

Who is Snow Patrol? You remember, about five years ago they had "Run" and "Chocolate" from their album Final Straw . Since then Snow Patrol has released a couple of albums, but none have reached the success of their breakthrough album Final Straw.

In addition to touring the United States extensively on this tour, a few of the dates will involve Snow Patrol as the opening act on U2's Live 360 tour in Chicago, Toronto and Foxborough.

Regina Spektor Show Announced

An unusual pairing of the Myth and soft folky singer Regina Spektor - but the Myth does hold more people than First Avenue and the Fine Line. Myth Nightclub tickets for this event will sell really fast, everyone and their mother that listens to 89.3 the Current will be making the trek out to Maplewood to go to the show.

Regina Spektor, was born in Russia in 1980 and shortly moved to the states to New York.

Gradually she achieved recognition through performances in the anti-folk scene in New York's East Village's Sidewalk Cafe. Spektor sold her cds at her small live performances until gaining major label attention.

I know Regina Spektor from the "Weeds" theme song. In season two of Weeds a different artist sings the theme song "Little Boxes" and she was one of them. I am glad that in season 4 they don't have that silly song anymore, it got old after awhile.

So be sure to buy your Myth Nightclub tickets for Regina Spektor early so you are stuck not being able to go - every folk loving hipster will be there!

Rancid and Rise Against just around the corner!

Friday, June 26th at Myth Nightclub pop punk pioneers, Rancid, will be in town for a show as well as Rise Against!, a newer band of the same genre. Myth nightclub tickets are on sale now for this event.

Rise Against

rancid

Rancid is one of those bands who tour just for the sake of touring. They are not touring in support of an album this time around. How lead singer, Tim Armstrong, finds so much time to tour is surprising considering he runs (and owns half of) Hell Cat Records.

RATT JUST ANNOUNCED!!!

The stars of my all time favorite Behind the Music, RATT, just announced a show at the Myth Nightclub. You may "Round and Round" and "Lay it Down" from the mid 1980's. You will be able to catch them at the Myth this June playing all of their classic hair metal jams. I don' think that they are touring in support of a new album or yet another Greatest Hits Compilation, but they are touring just for the sake of touring.
It seems like they are taking advantage of the great summer tour season to play a few shows around the country. Although they signed to Roadrunner in April and are recording new material RATT will not have any new albums to pitch on

But no lie from this music girl right here, Ratt's behind the music is my favorite. The Motley Crue one is a close tie, but the story of Ratt, believe it or not, has more drama. Of course, who can forget Nikki Sixx telling the tale of how he passed out 'with the needle still in his arm.' But who can resist the trials and tribulations of RATT.

I'm not sure of the availabilty of Myth Nightclub tickets for this show, however, if Megadeath last year at the Myth was any indication on how Myth Nightclub tickets for this show will sell you may want to get your tickets asap! I heard that Megadeath tickets were going for over $100 dollars!

Friday, June 19th at 7pm - with guests Firehouse and Downtread
Hurry! It's less than a month away!

Lots of stuff at the Myth this summer!

What has been going on at the Myth lately? I haven't been there since the awesome All American Rejects show I got to go to!
Other than concerts, there are a lot of other events at the Myth that you do not need Myth Night Club tickets for - all you have to do is pay the cover on event nights. The event nights that caught my eye were the Club Nitro nights that are 'exclusively for ages 16-20.' This poses a few questions. First of all, if someone older than 20 was at the door with their 20 year old friend would they be allowed in? And if so could they drink alcohol? I am guessing not, but you would think they could at least party with their friends. I am sorry, but the Foam Party at Club Nitro on Tuesday, June 16th sounds like a great time. But I am 24 and not in the age bracket allowed! How unfair is that?!
I went to Club Nitro's Myspace page to gather some more information, however, it looks like you have to be friends with them to see the page. I wonder when they see that I am 24 if they will deny my friend request? This seems all a little much for a dance night!

If you do not fall in the 16-20 age bracket, there are other event nights that you can for sure attend. There are Sensation Saturdays, Brutal Fight Night on June 5th, Midwest Hip Hop on July 2nd, and Dance and Dream Productions on July 4th. There are not a lot of details on those events, but you do not have to purchase a Myth Nightclub Tickets ahead of time, you simply need to pay the cover at the door.

Hope to see you at the foam party!

A Great Myth Experience!

Last night my best friend, Sara, and I went to the Myth to check out the All American Rejects. I went in to the show with low expectations, but I was blown away with how great the show was. Myth Nightclub tickets for this event were not sold out beforehand, but there I don't believe that there were any left at the door. As you can see in the pictures below the place was packed! We got our Myth Nightclub tickets from Ticket King and they were able to get our VIP Suite passes. Nice!

We got the privilege of being set up in one the of the VIP Suites - I believe it was called the KING Suite. Sara and I got cool Myth wristbands and were escorted to our suite by one of the lovely Myth staff members. The nice thing about the VIP area was that there was NO line to get a drink and the bartender was super nice.
We only caught the last few minutes of Shiny Toy Guns then after a short set change it was time for the All American Rejects! It was so awesome! They played all their jams: "Swing, Swing" "Mona Lisa" "Dirty Little Secret" and they closed their show with "Move Along" - BUT the best part of the show was the first song of their encore which was "Give You Hell." I must say the song brought the house down, the crowd was going crazy!

Check out some pictures from the show;

It was so nice to finally have a great experience at the Myth! I can't wait to go back!

Who is in for All American Rejects next week?

The All American Rejects are one of those bands that are a guilty pleasure. Their songs are so poppy that your naturaly instinct is to run away in disgust and listen to something truly meaningful that has changed the world. But I can't stop turning up the volume whenever I hear "Gives you hell" on the radio. I find myself dancing around my apartment with my roommate and it always ends with "we should totally go see these guys!"

And you can't help but love the lead singer, Tyson Ritter, (if you saw the House Bunny you KNOW who I'm talking about!) He does have some pretty dreamy eyes!

I keep getting worried though - Myth nightclub tickets for this event have got to be selling out any day, but I just can't REALLY decide if I want to go or not! And I don't live near the Myth so it would be a long drive AND I would have to pay Ticketmaster fees :(

Let me know if you're going! I might see you there!

Long time no see!

It's been awhile since I've updated, but life gets the best of you sometimes and demands time away from the computer. So have you been to any good shows lately? I sure haven't. A big concert weekend is underway at the Myth this weekend. Les Claypool starts off tonight, followed by Zack Wylde's Black Label Society on Sunday. In case these names don't sound familiar to you, you may recognize Zack Wydle's name from his days as a guitarist for Ozzy and Les Claypool is of course from Primus.
The last few times when Les Claypool has strolled through town he has played at First Avenue so I would imagine that there are still Myth Nightclub tickets available for this show (seeing as how the Myth a just a tad bigger than First Ave).

If you end up going to the shows let me know how they were. My boyfriend might be going to the Les Claypool one tonight so I hope there are some tickets left at the door!

Going to the Myth? Tell me About it.

Going to the Myth – LET ME KNOW ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE!

I read on one of my blogger friends web sites this great idea about getting other people to help me blog – so here is the deal…if you go to the Myth Nightclub in Maplewood (see Myth address in sidebar) and you want to write a little review – POST A COMMENT on my blog with your thoughts on the nightclub.

I know that comments often don’t get read, so if your input is valuable and I am sure it will be, I will move your comment to the front page of my Myth blog and give YOU full credit – if you have a myspace or a facebook page you want me to link to or even another blog, I will do that for you, (Blogging 101 also says get links to your site).

Myth Blog News

Let’s face it I am a terrible blogger. I have this great Myth Blog name and I have used my creative color skills to build an attractive web site, but I just can’t seem to post regularly – which is blogging 101 according to every “How to have a Successful Blog” article I have seen...yes, I have read a few. When I started this blog, I had great intentions of informing the Twin Cities public about the Myth night club and all of their upcoming events, but I now know that intentions do not produce blog posts.

I will try and get better.

I promise.

For now, here is a quick update on Myth Nightclub Events for the month of February:
...FRIDAY, February 13 BRUTAAL FIGHT NIGHT
...SATURDAY, February 14 VALENTINE'S DAY BASH
...MONDAY, February 23 FLOGGING MOLLY

Not a lot going on there, really. I thought they were going to try and attract more acts to their stage, but it appears the Myth is moving in a different direction? The Myth schedule is boring. They must be making a lot of money on the kiddie nights (16-20 year olds) because they have a lot of those on the schedule.

Myth Nightclub Site is Loud

OK, I haven’t made it back to the Myth since my picture taking incident, but one of my friends went to their New Years Eve black and white ball and said it was a blast. I was looking over the Myth calendar of events and I see that the Kottonmouth Kings are coming on Saturday March 7th – weren’t they just in the Twin Cities? If any one remembers, comment me!

Yeah, the Myth Nightclub Site is loud (aka noisy). Here’s a Myth Nightclub website hint: Don’t visit the site while you are at work with your computer speakers on. The Myth site is one of those annoying sites that play music automatically when you log on. I had to press my mute button very quickly. Sorry, boss.
